Tehran hosted the International Forum on Environmental Ethics
International Forum on Environmental Ethics organized jointly by the Iranian Department of Environment (DoE), the University of Environment (UoE) and ECO Institute of Environmental Science and Technology (ECO-IEST) was held on Saturday 6th of September 2014, at the International Conference Hall of the Department of Environment in Tehran.

Zistboom/ Amir Tolouei: International Forum on Environmental Ethics jointly organized by the Iranian Department ofInternational Forum on Environmental Ethics held in Tehran Environment (DoE), the University of Environment (UoE) and ECO Institute of Environmental Science and Technology (ECO-IEST) was held on Saturday 6th of September 2014, at the International Conference Hall of the Department of Environment in Tehran.

 
Environmental ethics is one of the disciplines which study the moral relationship of human beings to, and also the value and moral status of, the environment and its contents.
 
Several academia, experts of environmental and social sciences, theologists, political corps, UN agencies, NGOs, IGOs, Media, university students, and several other interested groups attended this forum in order to discuss among all, the importance of environmental ethics, ethical obligation(s) of humanity towards the environment, relationship between environmental ethics and climate change and other harms and damages to the environment, role of religions in environmental ethics, etc.

 
At the opening session of this forum after the welcoming remarks of Dr. Asghar Mohammadi Fazel, Secretary of the Forum and President of the ECO Institute of Environmental Science and Technology and statement of Salah Alzavavi, Dean of Diplomatic Corp to Iran and Ambassador of Palestine, Ayatollah Dr. Seyed Mostafa Mohaghegh Damad, as the keynote speaker of the event addressed the audience with his speech about environmental ethics.

 
The last speaker of the opening session was Dr. Massoumeh Ebtekar, Vice President of the Republic and Head of Iran s Department of Environment.

 
After the opening, the forum session was held, moderated by Dr. Ali Mojtahed Shabestari from Centre for Peace and Environment where Dr. Sarinya A.M.Sophia, Programme Officer in Regional Unit for Social and Human Sciences in Asia and the Pacific, UNESCO Bangkok Office; Dr. Roula Fakih, Director of Agriculture and Environment, Jihad AL Binaa Development Association, Lebanon (NGO(; Dr. Esad Prohic, Professor of Zagreb University, Croatia; Dr. Seyed Mostafa Mohaghegh Damad, Fellow Member of the Academy of Sciences of I. R. Iran; Dr. Manzoor Hussein Soomro, President of the ECO Science Foundation from I. R. Pakistan and Dr. Ozer Cinar, Professor of Yildiz University of Istanbul exchanged their ideas and point of views about environmental ethics.
